The"Never Alone" Christian Dance Conference is Saturday, May 1, 2010!!

God is directing us to concentrate on technique and choreography this time
with classes in Choreography Principles and Fundamentals, Dance Technique
and a "Choreography Clinic" where you can present your choreography for
suggestions and advice. As a special treat there will be a class in African
Dance! You don't want to miss this one!
Anyone 10 years and older is welcome to attend regardless of prior dance
experience!
We will have several door prizes including a gift certificate from Main Street
Dancewear...and more exciting surprizes!
The "Never Alone" Christian Dance Conference will be a concentrated time of
learning and growing in the Lord's presence..

This is 5 hour intensive conference that will bump you ahead to the the next
level in your ministry! You can be sure it will be life-changing! You don't want
to miss this opportunity to be trained with seasoned leaders in the dance
ministry! Your instructors are totally dedicated to serving Jesus and to
equipping you to be the best that you can be for Him !! The workshop will
include the following courses:
1:00 - 1:10 - Introductions, prayer
Classes:
1:10 - 2:00 - Dance Technique - Donna
The most requested topic, this will be a total technique class. It will
cover ballet, modern and jazz technique principles, steps and movements. This
class will help grow your movement vocabulary, teach you proper execution of
steps and movements and give you some real "nuggets" to improve your
overall dancing.
2:10 - 3:00 - Choreography Principles - Shontay
All of your questions about choreography will be answered in this
class. Among the topics discussed will be what to do with our inspired ideas,
what our dance should accomplish, what genre should we use, what are the
elements of choreography to be considered, how to conclude the dance and
how to deal with logistics. Bring your questions and prepare to take lots of
notes!
3:10 - 4:00 - African Dance - Shontay
Awesome African Technique will add cultural flair and variety to your
dances. This is a delightful class!
4:10 - 6:00 - Choreography Clinic - Donna and Shontay
At this time you will bring your dance ministry pieces, complete with
garments and props and present them for your instructors. You will
gain valuable feedback and suggestions that will greatly bless and enhance
your dance ministry.

Your Instructors and Mentors
Donna Martelli
A licensed and an ordained minister, Donna began serious ballet study at the
age of 10 and was a Principal Dancer with the Birmingham Ballet Company,
Birmingham, Alabama, during her teen years. Before she graduated from high
school, Donna had danced leading roles in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Ondine
and many original works. After high school she toured Europe and North Africa
with the renowned Harkness Ballet of New York. Later, after receiving Jesus
as Lord and Savior in 1980, she gave up dancing, only to have Him give it back
to her as a tool of ministry and evangelism. She has taught ballet, modern
dance, praise dance and related subjects at Jordan Academy of Dance, Ballet
Internationalle and other studios in Indianapolis, In. In 1985, The Beautiful Feet
Dance Ministry came into being and Donna both directs and dances with the
company. She implemented and teaches a course for Certification in Christian
Dance. Currently she teaches dance locally and she travels nationally and
internationally conducting Christian dance classes, workshops, seminars and
ministry presentations. She is also a member of "3 In One International", a
Christian dance company based in Bristol, England. Additionally, Donna is a
Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Pilates Instructor and offers fitness
training as well.
Spolight on Guest Instructor:
Shontay L. Dickerson
Trained in Ballet, West African, Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical dance genres, Shontay
teaches praise dance workshops to the community as well as private sessions
to local praise dance ministries. She has held dance leadership roles such as
former co-founder, choreographer for Essence of Motion Dance Company and
dance ministry leader for Healing Streams Word and Worship Center and Living
Word Fellowship churches. She enjoys ministering annually with the cast of
"Upon This Rock", a Christian Theater Production; and has also choreographed
a special piece, in 2008, for Faith, Hope and Love Dance Ministry, in celebration
of their Annual Prayer Walk on the Monument Circle.
Shontay is a Training Project Manager at Eli Lilly and Company and a native of
St. Louis, Missouri. She received her B.S. in Computer Science from Florida
A&M University in 1995. Her interests outside of dance include traveling,
interior decorating, arts and crafts projects and reading.
She and her husband, Dameon, are founders of Master Builders Ministries
(www.masterbuildersministries.org), a teaching and training ministry that
equips believers in the areas of spiritual warfare and deliverance. They are
members at Bread of Life Church of Indianapolis, in Avon IN.
Her passion: "To see lives changed and the Kingdom of God advanced through
the beauty and power that illuminates from ministering to the Lord in dance."
